Cheap Advertising Tips for Online Shops

By on 6. Januar 2012

It isn’t rocket science. If you have an online shop, you need to advertise your products in order for potential customers to find you. Of course this process is expensive and for start-ups money is probably a bit tight. However, you don’t need to break the bank when advertising your online shop, and there are even some methods you can adopt that don’t require any money at all.

Social Media

Signing up for a social media network is free, and it is the perfect way to showcase your online shop and all its products. By creating a page on sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, other individuals with similar interests can see your information. Then, for a little extra money, you can place ads for your online shop on other people’s pages, all based on specific demographics, such as age, gender and the interests of the person, which is all information readily available through the social media websites.

Backlinks

When at all possible, try to create backlinks on other websites. Backlinks are links placed on other websites that lead Internet browsers to your site. Backlinks on your social media website help, and you can even exchange links on a friends’ site, which would benefit you both and help promote your online shop.

Email Marketing

If you don’t mind a bit of spamming, there are online companies that provide large email lists for a small fee. For a few dollars, you buy the email accounts by the thousand then send a mass email to these accounts, featuring information about your company. Many individuals never open the email, while it is filtered to the “Spam” folder for others. However, it only takes a few curious individuals to open the email, stumble onto the website and purchase an item from your online shop to make the entire process well worth your while.
